Chennai Gold Prices Decline Amidst Market Volatility

The gold market in Chennai experienced a decline on August 19, 2026. According to the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA) rates, the 22-carat gold price decreased by ₹85 per gram and is now priced at ₹14,205 per gram.

The 18-carat gold rate also fell by ₹85 per gram, reaching ₹11,985 per gram. This decline is in line with the previous day's rate of ₹12,070 per gram.

Silver prices in Chennai also moved lower today, marking a ₹5 decline from the previous rate and currently priced at ₹250 per gram.
