Chennai Silver Price Hits Rs 2,600 per 10 Gram Amid Steady National Rise
Silver prices in Chennai have been steadily rising, reaching Rs 2,600 per 10 gram on August 13. This puts the city at the higher end of the national spread, with a gap of Rs 50 between Chennai and other major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.
On a longer chart, silver has come off its peak above Rs 40,000 per kg seen early in 2026, trading instead in a Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 per kg band. The recent trend has been upward, with the national benchmark climbing steadily through August.
The move was driven by sharp single-day jumps, including a Rs 10,000 per kg rise on August 11. Silver's dual character makes its price more volatile and prone to sharper swings when investment and industrial demand move together.
