Chevron Soars on Record US Oil Production, Surging Energy Prices
Chevron reported its highest quarterly profit on record in Q2 2026, earning $12.1 billion. This is a nearly fivefold jump from the same quarter last year, when Chevron posted $2.5 billion in net income.
The surge reflects both operational strength and exceptional market conditions that boosted all major oil producers during the period. Worldwide production increased 20 percent year-over-year, while U.S. production hit record levels.
Chevron's Permian Basin assets, its highest-producing U.S. oil field, continued to be a growth engine. The company achieved a return on capital employed of 21 percent and adjusted diluted earnings per share reached $6.06 for the quarter.
