Chicago Market Sees Rise in Wheat, Corn, Soybean Futures Prices
The Chicago market saw an increase in futures prices for wheat, corn, and soybeans on Thursday, September 10. December wheat rose by 1.71% to $272.36 per ton, while November soybean futures increased by 1.74% to $489.51 per ton.
The rise in wheat prices can be attributed to market participants expecting a decrease in global stocks, with forecasts suggesting a reduction of around 0.3 million tons to 273 million tons. Additionally, Expana raised its forecast for EU soft wheat exports in 2026/27 to 29.5 million tons.
Corn prices also saw an increase ahead of the September WASDE report, with traders surveyed by Bloomberg expecting a decrease in US corn yield forecast and production. New-crop corn stocks are expected at 1.511 billion bushels.
