Chilean Mine Strike Weighs on Copper Markets
Copper prices held steady above $14,400 per ton in London on Tuesday after workers at Antofagasta's Centinela mine in Chile voted to strike.
The move adds further supply disruption risks to an already tight market. Three-month copper futures rose 0.2% to $14,446 per ton on the London Metal Exchange by local time.
The metal is poised for a third consecutive monthly gain after rising around 9% in September, reaching a record high of $14,875 earlier this month.
