Clinton Sees India and China as Key to Resolving Iran Crisis

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton believes India and China can help ease tensions in the West Asia conflict if President Donald Trump chooses to use diplomacy. In an interview with C-SPAN, she said that these two countries have significant energy ties to Iran, making them key players in any diplomatic effort.

The conflict began on February 28 when the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran, triggering retaliatory strikes that led to the choking of the vital Strait of Hormuz. In June, the US and Iran signed an interim peace agreement, but it collapsed last month after fresh strikes from both sides.

Clinton pointed out that China is one of the biggest buyers of Iranian oil and gas, with significant reserves built up in tankers. She argued that if Trump were willing to use diplomacy instead of 'bluster', pressure on Iran could come from these countries.
