CME's 24/7 Gold Futures Trading Sees Strong Demand
CME Group's new 24/7 gold futures trading schedule has seen strong demand in its first weekend, with nearly 15,000 contracts traded on the platform. This represents approximately $60 million in notional value.
The launch of the new schedule was driven by a growing demand for flexibility and convenience in the gold market. According to Jin Hennig, Managing Director and Global Head of Metals at CME Group, 'Gold is a global safe-haven asset, and global events don't stop on weekends.'
Adam Hickerson, Senior Director and Chief Operating Officer of Robinhood Derivatives, also commented on the launch, saying that it provides customers with 'regulated futures contracts at any time of the day, any day of the week, from any timezone.'
