CME's Silver Futures Hit $15M in Notional Value on Debut Weekend
CME Group's 24/7 silver futures contract debuted last weekend, with over $15 million in notional value traded. The exchange said 2,387 contracts were traded during its inaugural weekend of around-the-clock trading.
This represents a successful launch for the new contract, which joins CME's existing one-ounce gold contract that launched on July 24 and has seen strong demand from retail traders.
The company said it continues to see solid silver demand, with its 100-Ounce Silver futures being the smallest of CME Group's precious metals contracts. It was designed specifically for retail traders who value the combination of right-sized products and 24/7 access across precious metals.
