Coimbatore Gold Prices Surge as Global Trends Drive Up Demand
Gold prices in Coimbatore have risen on August 13, 2026, following global trends. According to Business Upturn, the current price of 24-karat gold is ₹15,513 per gram, a gain of ₹22 from the previous session. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold has increased by ₹20 per gram to ₹14,220 per gram.
The local prices are in line with global trends, which have seen gold prices rise due to softer US inflation data and reduced expectations of an interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve at its September meeting. Spot gold was around $4,408.55 per ounce on Thursday, while US gold futures for December delivery were around $4,467 per ounce.
The sharp rise in gold prices has been attributed to the decline in inflationary pressures and reduced expectations of a Fed rate hike. This has led to increased demand for safe-haven assets like gold, which tends to perform well when interest rates are low.
