Colombia Targets Oil Production Rebound Amid Regional Rivals
Colombia's government is working to restore its oil production levels to one million barrels per day, a goal it hasn't reached since 2015. The country's current production stands at around 730,000 barrels per day.
The Minister of Mines and Energy, Maria Nohemi Arboleda Arango, has proposed an agenda aimed at reviving oil and gas exploration and production in the country.
Colombia faces a challenge from Argentina's rapid growth in oil production, with the neighboring country producing over 856,000 barrels per day. Venezuela is also increasing its oil production following an agreement reached with the United States.
