Commodities Markets See Mixed Results Amid Decreases in Corn and Soybean Prices
The closing markets for Friday, September 18, showed mixed results across various commodities. On the Chicago Board of Trade, Corn Futures saw a decline in prices for both December and March contracts, down 3 cents at $5.27 and $5.41, respectively. Soybean Futures also experienced a decrease, with November and January contracts down 16 cents at $13.03 and $13.19.
Wheat Futures followed suit, with December and March contracts down 13 cents at $7.13 and $7.29. However, Live Cattle Futures showed an increase in prices for both October and December contracts, up 20 cents at $215.85 and $216.57. Feeder Cattle Futures saw a decline, with October and November contracts down 57 cents at $323.80 and $318.27.
From The Andersons at Blacks Lane and Snobelen Farms, crop prices for Corn and Soybeans also showed decreases. For Corn, the 2026 Crop price was down 3 cents at $6.73 per bushel, while the 2027 Crop price was down 4 cents at $6.41 per bushel. The 2026 Crop Soybean price was down 16 cents at $17.29 per bushel, and the 2027 Crop price was down 11 cents at $16.31 per bushel.
