Commodities Mixed as FOMC Meeting Concludes

Instruments
Wheat Corn
Share

Corn futures fell short of expectations on September 16, 2026, as December corn lost 1.5 cents to $5.34 1/4. The market saw some profit-taking pressure and weak long liquidation ahead of the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting conclusion.

The corn market was somewhat limited by relentless rains and flooding in Iowa, which may have tempered selling interest.

Soybeans, on the other hand, rose 1.75 cents to $13.20 1/2, nearing mid-range. December soybean meal reached a 2.5-year high at $365.60 after December soybean oil fell 68 points to 69.67 cents.

The winter wheat futures markets saw some mild profit taking and weak long liquidation before intensifying buyer interest pushed prices above unchanged by the close.
