Commodity Markets Decline Across the Board on September 28
Closing markets for Monday, September 28 saw declines across various commodities. The December corn futures contract fell by 6 cents to $5.22 per bushel, while March corn futures dropped by the same amount to $5.35. November soybean futures declined by 31 cents to $12.87 per bushel, with January soybeans down by 30 cents at $13.02.
Wheat futures also experienced a downturn, with December contracts dropping by 15 cents to $6.87 per bushel and March contracts falling by 16 cents to $7.01. Live cattle futures saw significant declines, with October contracts down by 105 cents to $217.82 per hundredweight and December contracts down by 117 cents at $220.97.
Feeder cattle futures followed suit, with October contracts dropping by 260 cents to $332.32 per hundredweight and November contracts down by 217 cents at $329.80. The Andersons and Snobelen Farms reported similar declines in their crop prices for corn and soybeans, while Ontario Pork Reports showed the U-S CME price falling by $0.30 to $81.62 per hundredweight.
