US-based energy company Caturus is planning to increase its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity by nearly half through a major expansion at its Commonwealth LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The company aims to add 7.75 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of production capacity via a five-train expansion, which will bring the site's total planned capacity to around 17.25 mtpa.

This move comes as demand for US LNG continues to grow.
