ConocoPhillips Australia Completes Maintenance on APLNG Train 2
ConocoPhillips Australia's downstream operations team recently completed scheduled maintenance on Train 2 at the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) facility in Gladstone. The team successfully completed the work with zero recordable incidents, positioning the facility for continued safe and reliable performance.
The planned maintenance temporarily reduced production to allow teams to inspect equipment and complete targeted repairs and upgrades. This helped maintain asset integrity and operational reliability.
A total of 153 people, including site leadership, operations teams, and third-party subcontractors, worked together over a 10-day period to complete approximately 9,895 hours of work. The scope of work included replacing two gas generators and one fin fan shaft, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance on turbomachinery.
According to Peter Bird, major maintenance lead, 'The professionalism, collaboration, and focus demonstrated by all teams ensured the work was completed safely and efficiently while delivering significant value to the business.'
