ConocoPhillips Eyes Sale of Norway Business and UK Teesside Asset
ConocoPhillips is reviewing its Norwegian and UK assets following an unsolicited offer. The company's Norway business, which dates back to 1965, includes the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea, where it operates five producing fields. ConocoPhillips also holds stakes in partner-operated Norwegian fields and conducts exploration and development activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The Teesside asset in northeast England is closely linked to the Greater Ekofisk system and serves as a crude oil reception, storage, processing, and trans-shipment facility. If sold, this would mark a significant change for ConocoPhillips' European footprint.
The company emphasized that the evaluation of the offer is consistent with its strategy of optimizing and 'high-grading' its global portfolio. There's no guarantee a transaction will take place, as value will determine whether the unsolicited approach develops into a completed sale.
