Conservative Leader Promises to Turbocharge B.C.'s LNG Sector

Interim B.C. Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson unveiled a key plank of his party's platform, promising to triple liquefied natural gas (LNG) production by 2035.

Doerkson called it 'B.C.'s superpower plan,' claiming that if a project is good for the province, it will get a quick yes. He also pledged to double LNG production by 2032.

The NDP candidate Ravi Parmar ridiculed Doerkson's plan, calling it the 'ChatGPT plan' and saying his party's current path would exceed the tripled production target.

Doerkson denied allegations that his party's plans for a 'no new taxes' message would require spending cuts in areas like health care and education. He claimed those comments by B.C. Conservative MLA Tony Luck were taken out of context.
