Copper Industry at Critical Stage, SMM CCAE 2026 Seeks Dual Leadership
The copper industry is at a critical stage as it enters the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan in 2026. Global copper supply growth is constrained by multiple factors, including resources, costs, and geopolitics, while demand surges from new energy, power grids, and AI computing power.
This has created a widening supply-demand gap, highlighting copper's rising strategic value. China's copper industry is accelerating its high-end, smart, and green transformation under the Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of the Copper Industry (2025-2027).
The SMM CCAE 2026 Copper Annual Conference will be held on October 28-30 at Shangri-La Hotel, Nanchang, Jiangxi. The conference aims to drive China's copper industry from a scale advantage to dual leadership in technology and value through technological innovation and resource synergy.
