Copper Leads LME Base Metals Rally Amid Easing US Tariffs Pressure
LME base metals prices rose on September 17, led by copper's 1.82% gain to $14,492/t. Zinc and lead also advanced 1.81% and 1.30%, respectively.
The rebound was attributed to easing pressure following the Fed's interest rate hike, a softer dollar, and renewed Chinese buying. Copper benefited from strong demand and low inventories, while zinc gained on destocking and supply concerns.
In the domestic market, India's non-ferrous sector saw mixed trends, with aluminium tense scrap remaining unchanged and MCX aluminium gaining 0.21% to $3,894/t.
