Copper Price Surge Triggers Investment Firm's Shift to Base Metal Stocks
Investment firm Mineral & Financial Investments Limited (AIM: MAFL) has shifted its focus to copper companies, driven by supply constraints and increasing demand. The price of copper recently reached a record high of almost US$14,500 per tonne.
The company's President and Chief Executive, Jacques Vaillancourt, believes that copper prices could reach US$20,000 per tonne within the next five years, citing stockpiling ahead of potential US tariffs and Chinese buyers returning to the market as key factors.
According to Vaillancourt, the long-term outlook for copper is strong due to growing demand from various sectors. He notes that additional copper demand will come from emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and renewable energy systems.
