Copper Prices Edge Up Amid Softer Dollar and Supply Concerns
Copper prices rose slightly on Friday due to a softer dollar after weaker-than-expected US jobs data and supply issues. The benchmark three-month copper price on the London Metal Exchange increased by 0.1% to $14,262.50 a metric ton.
Nickel and zinc also declined, while aluminium prices were stable. However, overall market sentiment remains cautious due to high energy costs and industrial weakness in China.
The dollar index fell after US jobs growth slowed more than expected in September, making commodities priced in the US currency cheaper for buyers using other currencies.
