Copper Prices Hit All-Time High as Lundin Mining and Power Metallic Mines Stand to Gain
Copper prices have reached an all-time high, and it's not expected to drop anytime soon. Lundin Mining is one of the companies poised to benefit from this trend, with its operations in Chile producing a total of 156,811 tonnes of copper in the first half of the year. The company holds an 80% stake in the Candelaria mine and has a majority share in Caserones, which also contains molybdenum. Lundin Mining's future lies in the Josemaria development project, a massive copper-gold-silver deposit that is expected to produce 500,000 tonnes of copper per year at peak production.
Another company set to benefit from the rising copper prices is Power Metallic Mines, which is developing the NISK polymetallic project in Quebec. The project contains high-grade deposits of copper, nickel, cobalt, palladium, and platinum, making it an attractive investment opportunity. Analysts are already seeing significant potential for Power Metallic Mines, with a target price set at CAD 3.
Ivanhoe Mines is also a major player in the copper market, operating the Kamoa-Kakula mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The mine has a high production capacity and low production costs, making it one of the most profitable mines in the world. However, investing in Ivanhoe Mines comes with country risk due to its operations in the DR Congo.
