Copper prices have been on a rollercoaster ride this year, peaking at an all-time high of $6.68 per pound in May before falling to about $6.01 a pound by late June.

The price has rebounded strongly since then, reaching $6.62 a pound and climbing as investors regain confidence in the AI infrastructure build-out.

Growing demand from AI hyperscalers building data centers, coupled with supply that can't keep pace, is driving copper prices higher.

Electric vehicles, growing solar power, and electrification in poorer nations are also contributing to global demand for copper.
