Copper Prices Rebound in China Amid Pre-Holiday Restocking Plans
Copper prices in China's futures and spot markets continued to fall on September 15, but showed slight recovery at the London Metal Exchange (LME) due to generally bullish market sentiment.
Despite supportive fundamentals and mixed macro influences, copper prices are expected to remain volatile in the near term. In China's refined copper spot trading, transactions saw a limited increase on September 15, constrained by futures contract rollover and wide near-month backwardation structure, which restricted downstream procurement.
However, falling copper prices and the arrival of imported refined copper supported overall transactions, with spot premiums rebounding across major markets except for Guangdong where holders actively lowered prices to secure orders.
