Copper Prices Soar to New Records Amid US Tariff Fears and Supply Concerns
Copper prices have reached new highs in both London and New York as concerns over potential US tariffs and tightening global supplies continue to drive up demand.
The three-month copper contract on the London Metal Exchange (LME) rose almost 2% to $14,858.50 a tonne, surpassing the previous record of $14,779 set just a day earlier.
In the US, Comex copper futures also climbed to a record high of $6.894 a pound, further fueling concerns about supply shortages.
