Copper Processing Industry Prepares for National Day Holiday Challenges

The copper processing industry is bracing for the upcoming National Day holiday in China. SMM surveyed 98 downstream copper processing enterprises, representing a total annual capacity of 16.7348 million mt. The results showed that the holiday schedules varied significantly across different sectors.

Copper cathode rod production will be affected by high-level consolidation of copper prices before the holiday and tight spot supply. With spot premiums rising, raw material procurement has become more difficult for downstream enterprises.

The operating rate of the copper cathode rod industry is expected to decline MoM and fall below last year's level in October.
