Copper Slumps on Strong Dollar and Weak China Demand
Copper prices have fallen due to the strengthening US dollar and weakening demand in China.
The metal settled down 0.24% at ₹1,401.9 as market sentiment was weighed by concerns over Chinese restocking ahead of the seven-day National Day holiday, which has slowed.
LME copper stocks fell by 875 tonnes to 251,350 tonnes, with only around half of the material reportedly available for the market.
In contrast, US inventories have increased for six consecutive sessions and moved above 700,000 tonnes, reflecting continued concerns over potential import tariffs next year.
