Corn and soybean prices are up on Tuesday morning, August 25, according to the latest data from Successful Farming.

As of 9:07 a.m. CT, December corn was trading at $5.18¼ per bushel, an increase of 2¾¢ from the previous day's close.

November soybeans were also higher, up 4¢ at $12.28¼ per bushel.

Cole Raisbeck, commodities broker with Kluis Commodity Advisors, attributed the gains to lower crop conditions, which are now below the five-year average for both corn and soybeans.

The market will be closely watching updates on the 6-10 day outlook and actual rainfall totals across the Corn Belt as soybeans enter pod fill.
