Corn Futures Close July with Losses Amid Wheat Spillover and Weather Factors
Corn futures closed July with losses across both September and December contracts.
The September contract finished down 5 cents at $4.40 3/4, while the December contract fell 4.5 cents to settle at $4.64.
Market analysts pointed to spillover weakness from wheat, recent rains, and month-end pressure as primary factors for the price decline.
Data released by the CFTC showed managed money adding 75,490 contracts to their net long in corn futures during the week ending July 28.
