Corn Futures Plummet Amid Disappointing Export Sales
Corn futures are trading lower on Thursday, with prices down 4 to 5 cents so far. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has dropped 2 cents to $4.56 3/4.
The latest export sales data showed corn sales of just 535,989 MT for the 2026/27 marketing year, which is below estimates and a significant decline from last year's numbers. This marks the lowest level of corn sales in four weeks, with the previous week seeing a modest increase.
The quarterly Grain Stocks report from NASS revealed that September 1 stocks of corn stood at 2.095 billion bushels, surpassing last year's levels and exceeding estimates for US corn ending stocks.
