Corn Futures Rally Amid Disappointing Crop Yields and Lower Ethanol Production

Corn futures rallied on Wednesday, closing up by 9 3/4 cents at $4.73 per bushel for September delivery.

The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price rose to $4.45 1/2, a dime increase from the previous day's close.

The ProFarmer Crop Tour showed disappointing results for corn yields in Nebraska and Indiana, averaging 163.61 bushels per acre (down 8.85% from last year) and 183.54 bpa (5.3% below last year), respectively.
