Corn futures are seeing significant gains on Tuesday, with contracts up by 6 to 8 cents across the board. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has also increased, rising by 7 and three-quarters cents to $4.70 and a quarter. This comes as the Weekly Crop Progress data showed that 86% of the US corn crop had reached the dough stage by August 23.

The data also revealed that 45% of the crop was dented and 6% listed as mature, with condition ratings down 3% from last week at 47% in good to excellent condition. The Brugler500 index was down 5 points to 348, with notable drops in condition ratings for several states including Kansas (-5), Nebraska (-6), Ohio (-10), South Dakota (-2), and Minnesota/Illinois (-1).

Meanwhile, Brazilian corn acreage is estimated at 23.3 million hectares (57.58 million acres) for the 2026/27 crop year, up 3.1% from last year if realized.
