Corn Futures Slide Amid Crude Oil Drop and Lower Export Sales
Corn futures declined on Thursday by between 1 to 4.75 cents as of the latest session, according to TradingView data. The national average Cash Corn price dropped by 3.75 cents at $4.85.25. This drop follows a decline in crude oil prices by $1.34 on the day.
The release of export sales data for corn showed that there were 1.027 million metric tons (MMT) sold for the 2026/27 period in the week ending September 10, which is still down 16.6% from the same time last year. Mexico was the top buyer with 626,000 MT, followed by Japan at 150,200 MT.
South Korean importers purchased a total of 260,000 MT of corn in an overnight tender, although no origins were announced.
