Corn Futures Slide Amid Weak Demand and Lower Ethanol Production
Corn futures are declining on Wednesday's midday trading session, with prices down 5 to 6 cents. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has dropped by 5 cents, reaching $4.07 1/2.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 120,000 MT of corn to Mexico, with 30,000 MT allocated for the 2026/27 crop year and 90,000 MT for 2027/28. This development may influence market sentiment but has not yet halted the downward trend in prices.
The recent data from the EIA shows a decrease in ethanol production by 26,000 barrels per day to 1.107 million barrels per day, while stocks drew down by 202,000 barrels to 24.524 million barrels.
