Corn Prices Bounce Back Amid Mixed Crop Progress Report
Corn prices have started to bounce back on Tuesday after Monday's losses, with contracts gaining between 2 and 2.5 cents.
The recovery follows a mixed NASS Crop Progress report that showed 72% of the US corn crop was mature as of September 27, with harvest at 18% complete and matching average pace.
The report also revealed condition ratings were steady this week at 57% in good to excellent condition, while the Brugler500 index remained unchanged at 347.
Ahead of Wednesday's Grain Stocks report from NASS, traders surveyed by Bloomberg are looking for September 1 stocks of corn at 1.911 billion bushels, which would be well above last year's level but a modest reduction from the WASDE estimate for 2025/26 US corn ending stocks.
