Corn Prices Down 2 Cents Amid Crude Oil Decline and Weaker Export Sales
Corn prices declined on Friday morning, down 2 cents in the front months. This follows Thursday's losses, which ranged from 1 to 4 3/4 cents across various contracts.
The decrease in open interest was particularly notable, with a drop of 8,213 contracts on Thursday, largely due to liquidation in the first two contracts.
The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price fell by 3 3/4 cents to $4.85 1/4. Crude oil's decline of $1.34 on the day also contributed to the pressure on corn prices.
Corn export sales data showed a total of 1.027 MMT in sales for the 2026/27 crop year, down 16.6% from the same week last year. Mexico was the top buyer at 626,000 MT, followed by Japan with 150,200 MT.
