Corn Prices Fall as US Crop Matures Ahead of Schedule
Corn futures are experiencing losses on Tuesday, falling 2 to 3 cents at midday. The national average Cash Corn price has dropped by 3 cents to $4.95 3/4.
The USDA's Crop Progress report revealed that as of September 20, 58% of the US corn crop was listed as mature, with harvest at 13% complete and ahead of the 11% average pace. The condition ratings were up by 1 percentage point this week at 57%, and the Brugler500 index held steady at 347.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has estimated the 2026/27 Argentina corn crop to be around 66 MMT, which would be above last year's 64 MMT. The current crop is reported at 11.1% planted.
