Corn Prices Recover After Early Losses on Tuesday
Corn prices pulled off their early lows on Tuesday, trading slightly lower at midday. The national average Cash Corn price stood at $4.87, a gain of 3 1/4 cents from previous numbers. The weekly Crop Progress report showed that 86% of the US corn crop had dented as of September 13, with 42% listed as mature and harvest progress sitting at 8%. Condition ratings improved by 1 percentage point this week, reaching 57% in good to excellent condition.
The Brugler500 index remained steady at 347. Data from CONAB was released on Tuesday, revealing the 2025/26 corn crop in Brazil at 144 MMT, a 1.04 MMT increase from previous estimates. Initial projections for the 2026/27 corn crop were set at 148 MMT by CONAB, compared to the USDA's estimate of 139 MMT.
Corn futures prices for December, March, and May contracts reflected minimal changes, with Dec 26 Corn trading at $5.32 3/4, down 1/2 cent. Nearby Cash was priced at $4.87, a decrease of 1/2 cent. Mar 27 Corn stood at $5.47 1/4, down 3/4 cent, and May 27 Corn traded at $5.54 1/4, with a loss of 1 cent.
