Corn Prices Slip Back From 18-Month High Amid US Output Concerns
Corn prices retreated on Friday from an 18-month high but still headed for its second weekly gain, driven by expectations of lower US output.
The most-active corn contract on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) was down 0.6% at $5.00-1/2 a bushel as of 0009 GMT, after climbing to its highest point since February 2025 on Thursday.
The market is closely watching reports from the Pro Farmer field tour, which projected lower corn yield potential and soybean pod counts across western Iowa, down from last year but near or above three-year averages.
