Corn Prices Tumble Amid Global Market Declines
Corn futures are experiencing pressure on Friday, trading at losses of 3 to 4 cents at midday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is down 3.5 cents at $4.85 1/4.
The weakness in corn prices can be attributed to double-digit losses in beans and wheat, as well as declines in crude oil. This trend has led to a decrease in export sales data, with the 2026/27 corn export commitments now standing at 17.4 MMT, down 27% from the same period last year.
This marks a significant drop in export commitments, representing only 21% of the USDA's projected exports and falling behind both last year's figure of 28% and the five-year average.
