Corn Prices Tumble Amid Market Pressure and Slowing Exports
Corn prices are down on Thursday due to market pressure. The national average Cash Corn price has dropped by 1.5 cents, reaching $4.88.50. Export sales data revealed that corn exports for the week ending September 10 were at 1.027 million metric tons (MMT), a decrease of 16.6% from the same period last year.
The data fell within the range of trade ideas, which forecasted between 0.7 and 2 MMT. South Korean importers made significant purchases overnight, acquiring a total of 260,000 MT of corn without specifying its origin. The December Corn contract is currently at $5.32.75, down by 1.5 cents.
The nearby Cash price has also decreased to $4.88.50, while the March and May contracts are down 1.75 cents and 2 cents, respectively. These changes may indicate market volatility and a shift in demand for corn.
