Corn Rallies on Smaller Yield and Stocks Cut
Corn futures closed down on Wednesday after a volatile session, but managed to recover some losses due to spillover gains from wheat and increasing Black Sea strikes. The national average Cash Corn price rose by 20.1/4 cents to $4.27.1/4.
The Crop Production report from NASS showed a yield of 180.7 bushels per acre, with planted acreage increased by 1.4 million acres and harvested up by 1.2 million acres. Prevent plant acres for corn stood at 1.355 million acres, resulting in production totaling 16.013 billion bushels.
The WASDE data showed ending stocks for 2025/26 down by 75 million bushels due to an increase in exports to 1.945 billion bushels. World ending stocks were also down by 0.6 MMT for the new crop estimates at 274.66 MMT, with production for Brazil up by 2 MMT to 140 MMT.
