Corn Rises as First Harvest Prices Set Amid Concerns Over Yields
The first harvest grain prices of the year have been set by Centenary Thurles Co-op in Ireland, with feed barley priced at €225/t and feed wheat at €237/t. This includes a bonus of €9/t.
The base price for green barley delivered at harvest is €216/t, while green wheat is at €228/t. These prices are based on a moisture content of 20%.
Corn markets have seen an increase over the past few days, with French corn rising to €276/t from €264/t on Tuesday evening. US corn traders were waiting to see whether any US grain would be bought by China during this week's state visit to Washington DC.
Argus Media reports that French corn yields remain disappointing as the harvest progresses, while dry weather conditions continue to cause concern in France.
