Coshocton Residents Told: New Natural Gas Supplier Takes Over in October
The City of Coshocton has clarified recent notices sent to residents participating in its natural gas aggregation program. The notices, titled 'Confirmation of Change in Natural Gas Supplier,' were sent by Columbia Gas of Ohio.
The city operates an opt-out aggregation program, which automatically enrolls eligible customers unless they opt out by a specified deadline. In this case, the deadline was September 3rd, but residents who missed it can still opt out by calling Direct Energy at 1-866-968-8065.
Billing for natural gas supply will be handled by Direct Energy beginning with October 2026 meter-read dates. The aggregation rate is fixed at $0.5200 per Ccf through August 2027, but Columbia Gas will continue to deliver and bill customers as usual.
