Costco Hikes Kirkland Motor Oil Price Amid Soaring Oil Costs
Costco has raised the price of its Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil to around $58 for a 5-quart two pack, more than double the approximately $30 it was selling for last year.
The wholesale club operator is also limiting customers to purchasing only two boxes of this product per week.
This price hike comes as oil prices continue to climb due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Brent crude has surpassed $109 per barrel, up from less than $72 in early July.
As a result, motor oil companies may be diverting their efforts towards producing more diesel and gasoline, which have higher demand worldwide.
