COT Report Reveals Shifting Market Positioning Across Commodities
The latest Commitments of Traders (COT) report from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission reveals significant shifts in market positioning across major commodities.
In grains, wheat complex showed producers and merchants holding net short positions in HRW wheat, while managed money was net long. SRW wheat had a total open interest of 455,433 contracts.
Corn open interest reached 1,742,139 contracts, with producers and merchants net short by a wide margin. Managed money held a net long position of 305,756 contracts against 249,043 shorts in corn.
In energy, light sweet crude oil (WTI) on ICE Futures Europe had producers and merchants net long at 403,188 longs and 344,300 shorts. Managed money held a net short position of 9,126 longs versus 26,334 shorts.
