Cotton Falls, Crude Rises as US Dollar Index Climbs
Cotton futures are trading lower on Tuesday, down by as much as 75 points in some contracts.
The US dollar index has also risen, up $0.219 on the session.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices have increased by $4.54 per barrel.
New data from the USDA shows that 57% of the US cotton crop has bolls opening as of Sunday, with 8% already harvested.
The condition ratings for the crop are at 36% good/excellent, a 2 percentage point increase on the week.
