Cotton Futures Close Week with Mixed Results
Cotton futures closed Friday with losses in the front month, ranging from 7 to 129 points, while deferred contracts saw gains of 3 to 4 points.
The December contract managed a weekly increase of 135 points, as crude oil prices slipped by $1.72 per barrel and the US dollar index dropped by 0.024.
According to the Commitment of Traders report, managed money spec funds in cotton futures and options added another 3,525 contracts to their net long position in the week ending on Tuesday, bringing it to 53,209 contracts.
