Cotton futures saw weakness on Tuesday, closing lower across most contracts.

The losses ranged from 27 to 46 points, depending on the contract.

This comes as the US dollar index was slightly lower at $0.089 and crude oil dropped $3.90.

The weekly Crop Progress data reported 81% of US cotton has set bolls, with 20% already opening.

Crop condition ratings were down 1 percentage point to 37% good or excellent.
