Cotton Futures Stabilize on Friday After Initial Surge
Cotton futures have stabilized on Friday after an initial surge, with contracts fluctuating between minor gains and losses.
The October contract is up by 56 points at 87.58 cents per pound, while the December contract has dropped 7 points to 88.27 cents per pound.
Crude oil prices have declined slightly, and the US dollar index has increased by $0.073.
The latest export sales data shows that cotton commitments for the 2026/27 season are at 4.235 million RB, representing a 31% increase from last year's levels and accounting for 37% of the USDA's export projection.
